Borussia Dortmund vs. Hannover '96

Borussia Dortmund come into the match being 9th in the tables with two wins, two draws, and a loss. They lost last friday 1-0 to the other Borussia team. Hannover come into this fixture with a win, 3 draws, and a loss, but they are responding positively to their new coach.

From a history standpoint, these teams never had a 0-0 draw scored against them. Statistically speaking, coming from Borussia's site, that Wolfsburg wins away every 41 years in this matchup. Their next victory won't be until 2046. This is all purely statistics though.

Borussia's coach has found new desire, hunger, and will within his team's closed door practices. They are in an optimistic mood and plan on playing attack football against Hannover, a team who has yielded already 13 goals. The Borussians are determined to end their Friday streak of losing and win one for the fans tonight. They're dissastisfied with their position in the league, and believe they can reach top 5. When Borussia plays with attacking style, they tend to possess the ball longer than their opponents and create more scoring opportunities. They are leaving themselves for the counter-attack, but that's German football for you.

Hannover have a new boss and have responded with a win and a draw during his brief tenure. With 2 games into it, that immediate effect on its players should wear off. There isn't much to report from the out of form German side except for the fact that they have some injury problems.

In tonight's game, I think Borussia can come out with a win and will go for the 3 points at all costs. They will constantly be pressuring Hannover's vulnerable defense and they should put a few behind the net. I'm betting on Borussia -1/2, -1 -112 @ Bet365 to win 4 units. If you don't know how to read this, it means that if they were to win only by a goal, I'd get 2.24 units back in my account, and the the other half would be 2.24 units to win 2. I feel confident that Borussia could win by more than one goal tonight. It is a game where they can analyze if they're new found swagger and form is carried over on to the field.

Good Luck this weekend guys.

nice write up as always.
I agree with dortmund winning, but i am careful with the hdc.
They are a strong home team and usually producing the wins, but for what reason ever they very rarely have big wins. they let most teams hang in the game. That s is especially against the mid-table or weaker teams who are waiting only for the counter attack. Hannover is this category, so i expect something like a 1-0 or more likely a 2-1 win for dortmund.
That being said your bet should be at least half a winner, but for me the chance for a draw are higher then a 2 goal win.

BOL

p.s Have a look at the Hoffenheim match ive posted in my thread. it is one of the strongest i had for 2 or 3 weeks.

I'll bite on that: Hoffenheim -1 -114 to win 2 units.

I always love it when teams going in opposite directions match up against each other. If it weren't for you though, I would've never found out about this since my German is entirely relied on the crappy translation sites. Good Luck to us on Hoffenheim and hopefully Borussia put on a good performance.

it s nice to see a thread where all posters have team logos of a german club as avatar :103631605 (at least for a night)

I hope my team Köln also comes thru in today s 2.bundesliga match, but their star striker Helmes(7 goals in first 5 matches) got a broken foot in the last match, so i ve to see first how they adjust.

Dortmund injuries...

Hi guys... Do you know if there are any key injuries on Dortmund???

I know they don't have too much depth on the squad, and somewhere i found out that Sebastian Kehl, Amoah, Metzelder, Nelson Haedo Valdez, and Sahin are out of the squad... in there theres at least 3 or 4 of the best players in the team... Makes me a bit unsure..

Do You know if they will play?

Hannover is without Thorvaldsson, Nagy, Juric and Halfar, all due to injury

Borussia are out with Kehl, Metzelder and Amoah, valdez, and sahin.

dortmund struggled as they often do against these type of teams at home, but it had nothing to do with the injuries. metzelder and kehl are of cause sme of the best players of dortmund, but they are since quite some time, so no special situation for this match.
